ScoutFEST 100
September 18th, 2010
On September 18, 2010 the Chicago Area Council, Boy Scouts of America will be hosting an encampment of Scouts from throughout the Great Lakes region in downtown Chicago as a celebration of Scouting's 100th Anniversary.
Trout Unlimited is participating in this event scheduled to be held on Northerly Island from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm on Saturday September 18th. What is needed are volunteers willing to take on portions of the days program. There will be fly tying and fly casting instructions for the scouts attending the days activities. For this we would need between 18 and 22 TU members to assist in these activities. This number would allow for individuals to take breaks during the day long program. We also would like to inform both the scouts and leaders attending about the TU programs Trout in the Classroom, merit badge programs and also conservation efforts that individual chapters are involved with. If a single chapter could take on one of these program areas that would be greately appreciated. The site we have from the ScoutFEST organizers consists of a tent (10x10), seven tables and 20 chairs.
If you are interested in participating please contact Barry Coddens by email (bac248@northwestern.edu) or by phone (847-347-0063).
Thank you.
