Genesee Creek Workday with SEWTU

January 26th, 2008

On Saturday, January 26, 2008, SEWTU will return to Genesee Creek, located just outside of Genesee Depot, in Waukesha County. The subject of a prior SEWTU-involved roller mill dam removal, led by our current President Dan Asmus, Genesee Creek is a pristine spring creek in the heart of our Chapter's area.

We'll work continuing our restoration efforts, along with Carroll College volunteers led by Professor Jason Freund (who is also a TU member). Let's turn out a good crew, continue what we started, and support Carroll College and its stewardship efforts.

Beat your cabin fever by coming out and helping one of our Chapter's true gem's.

We'll work a half-day, as always, and a free lunch will be provided. To get to the worksite, simply take Highway 83 south off of I-94. The worksite is 1/4 mile north of Highway 83's intersection with Highway 59, just sound of Genesee Depot. There is a pull-off on the east side of Highway 83, and a small Carroll College sign. Look for other vehicles, and be prepared to park alongside Highway 83. Please remember to be careful when parking or crossing the road, as Highway 83 is a busy road.

Be sure to dress appropriately (it will be January, after all!), bringing warm clothing, and safety glasses. Volunteers interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Henry Koltz, at hek@sdelaw.com, or by phone at 414-258-4300.
