Last year, Bob DeGraff and a group of fly fishing friends were looking for a place in Canada that would meet the needs of all the different types of fishing the group wanted to do. Unable to find such a place, they looked to Alaska. After 6 months of due diligence on the net, in books and maps and with phone calls to resource persons, they put together a trip to Alaska's famed salmon streams for about the same money as the Canada trip.
On the first of August, the group arrived at their camp on the banks of an Alaskan salmon stream at the peak of the run. Bob comments , "It was a very special moment for me because unlike the circus-type atmosphere found on Wisconsin's Root and Milwaukee Rivers during the salmon run, there was only a flock of seagulls and a pair of beaver there to share this sight."
